Vehicles in German Town Discovered Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Police reported they were notified by a man who found a automobile in Hanau smeared with red-colored liquid

Approximately 50 cars have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to police.

Cars, building surfaces and postboxes were marked, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they announced in a release.

Law enforcement state they were contacted during the night on Wednesday night, when a individual observed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored fluid.

The fluid had been applied in the pattern of a swastika, they reported.

Officers then located multiple other vandalized automobiles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.

These symbols are banned in Germany under regulations prohibiting the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.

Officials report initial examinations suggest the fluid was likely human bodily fluid.

"At present there remains no lead as to its source; investigators are currently not informed of any harm in connection with the occurrence," they stated.

Municipal representatives announced they were attempting "to unravel the mystery" and have asked to the public for details.

A senior representative said the vandalism left him without words and required to be addressed rapidly.

"This event affects the center of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the right-wing attack five years ago," he wrote on social media, referring to the death of nine victims by a shooter aiming at people of immigrant origin in February 2020.
